...to be a Mystery Reader in 1R!
I would like to invite any parents, older siblings, grandparents, relatives, or other special people to surprise your child by being a “Mystery Reader” this year in our classroom. Students LOVE having their family, friends, and relatives visit our classroom to share in our learning by reading a favorite story aloud to our class. Readers are asked to bring one or two picture books to share with 1R from 8:15-8:30 on either Wednesday or Friday mornings.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Please only sign up for one slot per family. If more than one person in your family would like to be a mystery reader, please try to sign up for one slot together where you can both read a book. I would like EVERY student to have at least one special person as mystery reader before any other children have multiple! Once every child has had a special reader, I will likely open up additional spots.
- If Wednesday mornings do not work for you, please email me to find a mutually agreeable time.
- In order to help us guess who our mystery reader is, please send me 3-4 clues the week of your sign up.
Example clues:
- I have 2 children
- I am the granddad of someone in 1R
- My first grader plays soccer and hockey
- I can speak two languages
- I celebrate Diwali with my family
- My family's favorite meal is chocolate chip pancakes, etc.
It is helpful if at least one of the clues is extremely obvious to help your first grader guess that it is you!
